Gutes Teil auf welches du da verlinkt hast.
Ich sehe mitleiweile ein, dass es keine Time Capsule mit Media Stream Funktion gibt. So muss ich mich wohl oder ğbel mit einem zusĤtzlichen GerĤt auseinandersetzen! Mit PC, Modem, Backup (IP Switcher und WLAN Zugang, TV Receiver (Cablecom), Telefon, TV GerĤt nun noch zusĤtzlich ein Media Streamer welcher in die Wohnwand integriert werden muss (desshalb wenig WĤrme- und GerĤuschemmision). Ich hatte mal ein WD (My Book) Backup, welches laut war, schnelle heiss wurde und nervig zum abschalten war.

Temat: Optimal Setup
So, I've been playing with plex and I quite like it. I'm wondering how to go about integrating it into my entertainment system. My iMac is about 30 feet away from the tv/receiver and I have a nice thick hdmi cable that seems to work just fine. Is it reasonable to think I could use my main mac (the iMac 2ghz) for plex or should I really consider a standalone mac mini or something? Some questions I have: 1. I plan on buying a mini-dvi to hdmi connector so that I can connect the iMac to my Samsung LCD. When I set this up, I assume the mac will see the TV as a second monitor? If so, can I tell Plex to run on the second screen - ie. TV)? 2. Is it...

Hi Everybody I started using plex a few weeks ago and I must say it's fantastic! I'll be making a donation that's for sure. I am wondering however if it has a feature to use a digital TV receiver and also if it can be used as a PVR like a TIVO? If so, it would mean that a mac mini would be able to replace every other device that's hooked up to my TV. Thanks

...(2009) . I was wondering, how are the fans behaving when you running Plex in 720p and 1080p resolution? I have a mac mini from 2007 or something with the GMA950 graphic chipset. When I run 1080p resolution, the fan hits the roof and for 720p, I notice that the fan will increase in RPM when I navigating the menus of Plex. Any comments or experience about this nerpissad? my mac mini is located about 2 meters (I think that would be about 6 feet?) away from my sofa on a low table where my TV receiver and two external drives are located as well. I must say I don't hear them at all when playing HD content. even when I "stress" the mini, doing some reencoding for example, the mini's noise never reaches the point that it becomes a nuissance or really noticeable. Temat: Central Server with Multi-TV Setup
Hello I have been using Plex for about 6 months now and just love it. I am moving into a new house soon and want to plan out my setup beforehand and was wondering if you can help me. Right now in my condo I have four 1 TB drives (mostly mkv's ranging from 4-8 GB, tv shows, and music) connected to a macbook which is connected to my tv/receiver via DVI to HDMI. Now when I move into my new house I want to streamline things a bit. I want to have a central server (somewhere in the 5-6TB range) that contains all my files. For distributed audio, I will have a SONOS system with probably 3 zones. So that takes care of the audio, but for video here is my plan, have potentially 3 TV's with an independant media server (probably just decently powered Hackintosh's) connected to each one running plex. Witam zakupiłem ostatnio hybrydowy tuner tv MCFTec hybrid tv receiver tm6000. http://www.mcftec.com/en/produkte.php?cat=4&pid=41 Niestety są problemy jest obraz ale nie ma dźwięku same szumy. Zna ktoś może sposób jak to naprawić. Byłbym bardzo wdzięczny za każdą pomoc.

Temat: Using an AV Receiver as an HDMI switch with Plex
A bit OT, but wouldn't it be nice to have a way to automatically sleep the Mac when the screen/ tv/receiver is switched off, and then to wake up again when it's switched on? Anyone know if this would be somehow possible? I guess it could probably be done with a universal remote, but I wonder if it could be done using only the DVI-signal (if you catch my drift).
